Samsung One UI 8.5 Beta: New Features for Galaxy S25 – Enhanced Productivity & Security! (2026)

Samsung Unveils One UI 8.5 Beta: Elevating Usability and Security Across the Galaxy Ecosystem

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has unveiled the One UI 8.5 beta program, revolutionizing the way users create, connect, and safeguard their digital lives. This latest iteration of One UI promises to enhance productivity, privacy, and performance across the entire Galaxy ecosystem.

One UI 8.5 Beta: Redefining Content Creation

One UI 8.5 introduces a seamless content creation experience. Users can now generate and edit images effortlessly with the updated Photo Assist 1, eliminating the need to save each iteration. This feature allows for continuous editing, making the creative process more fluid. Once complete, users can effortlessly review their entire edit history, select their favorites, and keep them for future use.

Sharing content has also been streamlined. Quick Share2 now recognizes people in photos and suggests sending them directly to the relevant contacts, making it easier to share memorable moments.

Elevating Device Connectivity

One UI 8.5 brings a new level of device connectivity. Users can effortlessly manage files, share networks, and communicate with nearby devices. Audio Broadcast3, for instance, enables communication with LE Audio-supported devices using Auracast, allowing users to broadcast their voice alongside media audio, perfect for group events or tours.

Storage Share4 further enhances the Galaxy ecosystem by displaying files from other Galaxy devices, including tablets and PCs, directly in the My Files app. Users can now access their phone's files from other Samsung devices, including their TV, making file management more efficient.

Strengthening Security Measures

To ensure user data remains secure, One UI 8.5 incorporates advanced security features. Failed Authentication Lock automatically locks the screen if there are multiple failed attempts to verify identity through fingerprint, PIN, or password. Additionally, Identity Check now safeguards more settings, providing an extra layer of protection.

Availability and Exclusivity

The One UI 8.5 beta program will initially be available to Galaxy S25 series users in select markets, including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the U.S., starting from December 8. However, it's important to note that the features highlighted in this press release are not available in Canada.

Note: The Generative Edit feature for Photo Assist requires a network connection and Samsung Account login. Editing with Generative Edit may result in a resized photo. A visible watermark is added to indicate AI-generated images. Screen images are simulated for illustration purposes, and actual UX/UI may vary.
