On January 16, the palace disclosed that the 67-year-old sovereign prince had a "scheduled, short medical procedure on his scalp and face aimed at addressing a benign condition." This announcement sheds light on the prince's ongoing commitment to his health.
The official statement explained: "As part of a routine dermatological follow-up, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II underwent a scheduled, short medical procedure on his scalp and face to treat a benign condition." It further mentioned that the procedure involved a few stitches, indicating that while it was minor, it was still a surgical intervention that required careful attention.
Despite this medical event, the palace reassured the public that "The Sovereign Prince’s schedule of activities continues as normal," suggesting that he remains dedicated to his royal duties and responsibilities without interruption.
Prince Albert has been serving as Monaco's head of state since April 2005, when he ascended to the throne following the passing of his father, Prince Rainier III. Notably, he will celebrate the milestone of his 20th anniversary on the throne in 2025.
In his personal life, Prince Albert shares a loving family with his wife, Princess Charlene.
