"It's hard to explain how we found ourselves behind at half-time," Furbank reflected. "We felt dominant, but those breakaway tries and the surge of errors in the second half cost us. It's a tough pill to swallow, but sometimes these things happen."
Despite the setback, the Saints' Cup campaign is still alive, with several pool matches remaining in the spring. Furbank and his teammates must now shift their focus to the Gallagher PREM and the upcoming Investec Champions Cup, starting with a challenging away fixture against Bristol Bears.
"We know we have to win all our remaining games to reach the PRC knockout stages," Furbank acknowledged. "But we're ready for the PREM and Europe. We're in a good position in the PREM, and we aim to start strong in Europe as well. Although we haven't won at Bristol in a while, our away form this season gives us confidence."
