Airbus has issued an update regarding the deployment of precautionary measures for the A320 Family aircraft fleet. On November 28, an Alert Operators Transmission (AOT) was published, urging immediate action on a select number of in-service A320 Family planes. The company is now providing an overview of the progress made in implementing these safety measures across the global fleet.
The A320 Family fleet, comprising approximately 6,000 aircraft, was initially identified as potentially affected. However, the majority of these aircraft have already undergone the necessary modifications. Airbus is collaborating with its airline customers to ensure that the remaining 100 aircraft are also modified and returned to service.
Despite the swift action, Airbus acknowledges the potential inconvenience and delays caused to passengers and airlines. The company expresses gratitude to its customers, authorities, employees, and all stakeholders for their support and understanding during this critical safety initiative. Airbus emphasizes its unwavering commitment to prioritizing safety above all other considerations.
